Playing on gut strings is like working with something alive. They have a will of their own—imperfect, temperamental, and utterly rewarding when treated with care. You can’t bully them into sounding; you have to respect them, and when you do, they respond with a warmth and depth no synthetic string can quite match. I find that both humbling and quietly thrilling. A lifetime of experimentation that is far from over!
